CURATOR'S NOTE
A signature reinterpretation of our bestselling pleated pants, Thura Pleated Pants combine a hand-screen-printed lining with a plain cotton silk outer layer. Each pleat is accented with binding and a subtle red dot, while side pockets, a front placket, and zipper enhance functionality. Elasticated at the waist at the back, the pant offers comfort and a sculpted silhouette. Every fold, pleat, and seam is the result of hours of meticulous labour, reflecting artisanal mastery and everyday sophistication.
Note: The occasional irregularity in color, shade and print are characteristic of the hand made process. Each and every piece is as individual and distinct as you are. They are not to be treated as defects.
THE DESIGNER STORY
Inspired by the Japanese ideology of wabi-sabi, referring to that which is imperfect, impermanent, aged, humble and authentic, Ahmev carries an aesthetic that embraces the value of the passing of time, the seasoning of time and the elements, the handmade and the simple. Wabi-sabi is a way of being open to emotions and of acceptance; a state of mind and a state of feeling. The philosophy of wabi sabi is embodied in the design process, being showcased in the finished designs through the subtle hues, natural materials, frayed edges and the visible stitching and asymmetry.
