CURATOR'S NOTE
The Fable Collarless Jacket is an ode to craftsmanship, balancing structure, fluidity, and versatile elegance. Hand-finished bindings and hand crafted embroidered lace speak to the hours of labour behind every detail, while a hidden button placket maintains clean lines. Thoughtful pockets add practicality, and the tailored silhouette drapes gracefully over the body. Designed to pair effortlessly with dresses, tops, or trousers, this jacket is a testament to artisanal mastery, combining sophistication with everyday wearability. It takes 48 hours of meticulous craftsmanship to create this jacket.
Techniques Used: Hand embroidered lace by machine throughout the jacket. Hand screen printing.

THE DESIGNER STORY
Inspired by the Japanese ideology of wabi-sabi, referring to that which is imperfect, impermanent, aged, humble and authentic, Ahmev carries an aesthetic that embraces the value of the passing of time, the seasoning of time and the elements, the handmade and the simple. Wabi-sabi is a way of being open to emotions and of acceptance; a state of mind and a state of feeling. The philosophy of wabi sabi is embodied in the design process, being showcased in the finished designs through the subtle hues, natural materials, frayed edges and the visible stitching and asymmetry.
