CURATOR'S NOTE

Thoughtfully crafted in hand screenprinted striped Chanderi, the Shiori Pants bring ease and elegance together in perfect rhythm. The silhouette is relaxed yet refined, featuring a soft drawstring waistband with delicately finished ends and functional side pockets for everyday utility. Appliqué embroidery at the hem adds a tactile finish, quietly elevating the piece with subtle detail. Light, breathable, and versatile the Shiori Pants are made to move effortlessly through your day, with comfort stitched into every seam.

Ethereal in ivory, this piece is crafted from lustrous cotton silk and thoughtfully lined with soft cotton for graceful comfort. Its surface is screen printed by hand, then delicately layered with hand appliqué done by machine, creating quiet dimension and artisanal texture. A gently cinched silhouette is shaped by a drawstring with intricately finished ends, while side pockets add understated functionality. A harmonious blend of subtle detail and timeless design.

THE DESIGNER STORY

Inspired by the Japanese ideology of wabi-sabi, referring to that which is imperfect, impermanent, aged, humble and authentic, Ahmev carries an aesthetic that embraces the value of the passing of time, the seasoning of time and the elements, the handmade and the simple. Wabi-sabi is a way of being open to emotions and of acceptance; a state of mind and a state of feeling. The philosophy of wabi sabi is embodied in the design process, being showcased in the finished designs through the subtle hues, natural materials, frayed edges and the visible stitching and asymmetry.
