Curator's Note

The Sundress is an AZO free dyed yarn cotton dress, the piece is craftd with a scalloped bodice and gathered details. The piece is finished off with button details on the back of the garment.

The Designer Story 

Founded by Shivani Gandhi, Ito is an ethical brand that embraces the concepts of slow and conscious living in the fast paced city of Mumbai.

A blend of these concepts, result in the making of contemporary and timeless silhouettes she calls, “fuss free clothing for well lived days”. Ito meaning ‘yarn’ in Japanese, believes in providing purity in it’s products right from where it all starts – the yarn. The same is achieved by practicing ethical and fair trade, supporting local artisans and striving towards providing employment to housewives, hence making them self – independent. The brand's design philosophy revolves around minimalism, simplicity and creating clothes that are independent of time, crafted with sustainable fabrics in muted and neutral tones. Each garment goes through multiple hands at different stages that put in days of hard work to make one finished product, before it is packed with love for its forever home.
