This collection features majorly in black, white, and pink. The key inspiration behind the name has been the Kala Cotton fabric of Kachchh. Kala cotton is indigenous to Kachchh and is also organic grown. Minimal hand and machine embroidery are used to accentuate the cushions and give them a touch of delicacy. (Measurements: Size of the cushion 18 inches by 18 inches)
The designer story
It was always an inspiration to be working around handcrafted textiles, to be pulled towards real craft, real people, and real work despite all the attractions of the commercial world. A large part of our inspiration was drawn from the age-old Indian stories that often serve as a guide to our life: a reflection of ourselves. Lotus Veda started in 2010, and is all about handmade fabrics, home textiles, and sustainable clothing. The brand focuses on textile development and believes in story-telling through colors and designs which are an amalgamation of traditional and modern sensibility. Lotus Veda is a signifier of 'Simple is the Most Beautiful & Most Luxurious.' Handcrafted textiles, natural dyes & fine prints are what we love and covet. Our process centers on working closely with master weavers and artisans, across various parts of India. Every fabric we have is a showcase of Indian culture. Our team is dedicated to support slow and sustainable growth; to create a sensitive awareness of handlooms' and hand-printed textiles' potential; and to continue to build a bright future for our weavers and artisans by unlocking the enormous prospect in both local as well as global markets.
