CURATOR'S NOTE

An amalgamation of not just terrazzo floors of old villas, but also the bright colours of Indo-Portuguese Houses of Goa, our artisans prepare the concrete with utmost eye for the colour, pour and set it and then take it out of the mold the following day. These are Machine polished and then hand polished once again to give them the soft feel around the edges.

And so when you get home a set, you know that each coaster has been lovingly created by our artisans so that you love them at first sight.

THE DESIGNER STORY

Jyamiti & Sea is a Goa based brand that started during the lockdown. Jyamiti, the Bengali word for Geometry, represents shapes, lines, angles, arcs and the engineering involved in our work. Sea, represents the shapelessness, abstracts, fluidity, softness and limitlessness. And ofcourse, our love for our home state, Goa. In unison, they represent a whimsical concept, the non-conformist designs we have set out to create.

None of our products are painted. We colour the concrete itself with oxide pigments before pouring and setting using different techniques, depending on the end result we want to achieve. That is what gives the pieces the distinct blending of colours, making each piece truly unique
