CURATOR'S NOTE

When we were designing this beauty, somewhere we had in mind that we want to create something that gets passed on through generations. Something that becomes part of your family legacy. Something, the value of which, increases as it ages.

Our Nostalgia Cutlery Holder is meant to be that. This is one heavy duty product that should mature with time.

THE DESIGNER STORY

Jyamiti & Sea is a Goa based brand that started during the lockdown. Jyamiti, the Bengali word for Geometry, represents shapes, lines, angles, arcs and the engineering involved in our work. Sea, represents the shapelessness, abstracts, fluidity, softness and limitlessness. And ofcourse, our love for our home state, Goa. In unison, they represent a whimsical concept, the non-conformist designs we have set out to create.

None of our products are painted. We colour the concrete itself with oxide pigments before pouring and setting using different techniques, depending on the end result we want to achieve. That is what gives the pieces the distinct blending of colours, making each piece truly unique
