Curator's note

Crepe and Teal is a classic jumpsuit crafted from a beautiful cotton silk fabric, handwoven in West Bengal. It’s a sleeveless jumpsuit with a deeper U scoop neckline & princess cut bodice for a perfect fit with box pleat details in the jumpsuit. This style is made in a tan color with a highlight of blue color hand embroidery in abstract coral motifs. This collection is an assorted range of textiles & handspun fabrics sourced from Banaras, Islampur, Murshidabad & quaint villages of India. The inspiration for the embellishments & embroideries has been derived from the artist Huguette Caland and her work over the years. Intricate crafts like sujani & kantha are the key embroidery techniques been used.

The designer story

A sustainable fashion brand initiative, The Loom Art, works on loom-made fashion clothing and accessories. Beginning the journey in 2017, The Loom Art is slowly marking its name in countries across the globe. A creative lifestyle brand based in Jaipur, India, the idea at The Loom Art is to generate fashion for a cause, thus reinvent fashion lifestyles, one piece at a time. Born out of looms, the brand wants you to invest in their story which lives a lifetime through its statement of hand-embroidery on an organic bed of handspun textiles. The brand wants to stand out with their sustainable approach yet not compromise on the style quotient. Another important ideology of the brand is to resurrect the dying culture and heritage of artisans by sustaining the craft of hand embroidery. The Loom Art believes that every fabric is a canvas to paint it with your art.
